Welcome Back Husky Pups 2021-22

We hope everyone has had a nice summer! Here at MES, we cannot wait to welcome you all back to school.

Class Lists
Class lists have been posted and are available in the parent parking lot at MES. You can stop by  to see who your child's teacher will be this year. Please remember that we work hard to balance our classes and take different factors into consideration. We have an incredible staff at MES, and all students have the opportunity to succeed. Therefore, we cannot consider class changes at this time; however, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out.

Also note that the school will NOT be open to visitors tomorrow, Wednesday 8/18/21 with the exception of new students enrolling.

First Day
Parents can drop off children in the round pull through portion of the driveway or walk their children to the door after parking in the parent parking lot on the right hand side of the driveway. Parents may not enter the building at this time, but please be assured that we have staff on site ready to help your child find his/her classroom if need be.

Please send your child to school with a reusable water bottle.  We have filtered water stations at school where your child can refill their water throughout the day. The drinking fountains will be closed to limit the spread of germs. Also, all eating (lunch and recess) will be done outside, so please remember to have your student put on sunscreen and bring a hat for outdoor exposure.

Pick up & Drop Off
Students should arrive to school between 7:45-7:55. School starts at 8:00, and it is important to be on time to maximize learning opportunities. Our school doors will open at 7:30. If your student must arrive at 7:30, they should go to the MPR and out the back door to class tables as we cannot have mixed exposure of students indoors.

Remember if pulling through the parking lot to pull up to the TOP of the driveway. Please pull all the way through in order to allow as many cars as possible to drop off children. Absolutely NO cell phone use is permitted in the drive through, and please drive with extreme caution.

TK/K and 1st grade students will enter the building on the right hand side and proceed with health screenings. Students in grades 2-5 will enter the main doors on the left side of the building. (See map below)

Health Screen at Home & at School
If your child is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID 19 (fever, cough, stomach ache, sore throat, congestion, etc.), DO NOT send your student to school. Please get him/her tested at Public Health. On site, we will have students go through a temperature check and hand sanitation as well as a health screen with the teacher.Visitors on Campus
We are starting the school year with a no visitor policy until we receive further guidance from Mono County Public Health. Also, we will be limiting volunteers to those who are approved through the MUSD District Office and who show proof of vaccination. We will not allow classroom volunteers for the first few weeks of school in order to monitor the health and safety of our students and staff. We will continue to keep you informed as the year progresses. Thank you for your understanding.

We cannot wait to greet your students Thursday morning.
