Principal's Message

Our targeted learning focus at MES is Ponder, Persevere, and Prove it! At Mammoth Elementary, students will persevere through challenges and become active problem solvers.  Through extensive professional development and collaboration, our staff decided on these key principles as a focus for all students everyday. We reach these goals through our daily best practices of Conferencing and Daily 5, Number Sense Routines and writing with Claim Evidence Reasoning. 

We focus on the expectations and guiding behavioral guidelines embodied in our acronym PAWS - Practice Respect & Responsibility, Accept Others, Work to Succeed and Show Kindness. 

We value our community and families. We have a number of fun and educational opportunities for families, starting with our Husky Pups Days in August. We ask all families to update your contact information in the Aeries Parent Portal, which is so important for our safety plans.  We also ask all families to download the Parent Square app which will help you understand the latest information from our teachers. During the year, there are many ways to get involved. We will host five Family University Nights this year to promote family literacy, healthy living, wellness, bike safety, and kindness and consent. As a Community School, we will partner with local community agencies to make these events as fun and informational as possible. Another great way to get involved is to participate in our monthly PTO meetings.

As proud Principal at Mammoth Elementary, I cannot wait to see each and every one of our Husky Pups and get to know you even better this year. We continue to utilize Benchmark for Language Arts and English Language Development. We are supplementing our Benchmark language arts program with Estrellita/Lunita/Fugaces phonics instruction in Spanish and Really Great Reading instruction in English.
